There so much knowledge that I’ve gained over the years but it’s really the simple things that stick. The words, that no matter how they sound different , the original meaning remains. I purchased a poster from goodwill that held the vision for the life I am meant to live.
Desiderata means what is needed or wanted. Desi means pure or unadulterated. While Derata has a few translations but the rat race is the one that stands out.
Can their be purity in western pursuits of fame fortune and abundance. These words were written before the height of industry for many nations. And still many strive for detachment from the constant flow of wanting, needing and belonging. So I’m striving to remember to just be. Allow my life and experiences to transform me in the midst of the complexities of desire. That’s what it all breaks down to me as. Make your desires your Desiderata. Nothing new remains, Strive to be Happy!
